Australia’s National Baking Industry Association
The National Baking Industry Association together with its associated entities (Baking Industry Association of Queensland, Baking Industry Group and Baking Industry Training Australia) is the representative and employer body for the baking industry.
NZ Cyberguide to Flour Milling and Baking A resource for students, teachers and anybody interested in wheat, flour, bread and baking worldwide. This is the Internet version of a CD-ROM that can be ordered through the site. A great resource for bakers and people considering a career in baking.
Bakinfo is the website of the New Zealand Baking Industry Research Trust (BIRT). It offers fast access to baking information, opportunities, and research plus profiles of some New Zealand bakers and news of innovations. An excellent resource.
Training and Education
Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology
CPIT is home to the New Zealand Baking Training Centre, the only one in New Zealand, offering a wide range of industry-led courses, both full-time and part-time. The theory of baking is also offered on-line to apprentices and any other people interested in developing an underlying knowledge of baking.
